Loxone Takeover & Support

Orphaned systems · Reprogramming · Aftercare

Inherited a Loxone system, or lost the installer who fitted it?

We take over existing Loxone installations across the East Midlands — systems whose installer has stopped trading, moved on, or simply stopped answering. Diagnostics, admin-access recovery, reprogramming and ongoing support.

There are two ways people end up here. Either you bought a house with a Loxone system already in it and nobody handed over documentation, or the company that installed yours has gone quiet — dissolved, moved away, or stopped taking on support work. Either way you have expensive hardware in a cupboard that nobody can change.

01 · The good news

Loxone is a documented platform, not a black box

It is a more common situation than the industry likes to admit, and it is almost always fixable.

Given physical access to the Miniserver we can usually recover control, extract the existing configuration, and give you back full administrative access to your own system.

  • Configuration read off the existing Miniserver
  • Administrative access recovered and handed to you
  • No hardware purchase needed to start
  • You own the system at the end of it

Most takeover jobs start with nobody knowing what is in the cupboard.

02 · Step one

A diagnostic visit, and the documentation that never existed

We survey what is actually installed, read the configuration off the Miniserver, and identify what is working, what has been half-programmed and what has been abandoned.

You get written as-built documentation and a circuit schedule — in our experience the thing that was missing in the first place. You keep it whether or not you use us for anything further.

  • Full on-site survey of what is really there
  • Written as-built documentation and circuit schedule
  • An honest report on what works and what doesn't
  • Yours to keep, with no further commitment

03 · Then it is your call

Tidy it, finish it, extend it — or just have a number to ring

Some customers want the existing programming tidied so the house behaves sensibly again. Some want features that were promised and never delivered. Some want the system extended.

And some just want to know that someone answers the phone if it breaks, which is what the Care plan covers from £180 a year.

  • Reprogramming and tidy-up of existing logic
  • Promised features finally delivered
  • Extension where you want more from it
  • Optional Care plan from £180/year

Two things we will always be straight about

If the original install was wired badly, we will tell you what it would cost to put right rather than papering over it. And if your hardware is genuinely obsolete and not worth investing in, we will say so instead of selling you programming time on a system that should be replaced.

This is an East Midlands service, covering the same NG, DE, LE, LN, DN and S postcodes as the rest of our work. We don't take takeover work outside that area — it is precisely the kind of job that needs someone who can actually get to you.

Why it's worth doing properly

Loxone Takeover & Support, done once and done right.

You get the keys back

Administrative access handed to you in writing. No installer holding your own system hostage as a commercial lock-in.

Documentation that never existed

As-built wiring and circuit records produced from the survey. Yours to keep whether or not you use us again.

An honest condition report

What's working, what was never finished, what was done badly. Including the parts that are awkward for us to tell you.

No hardware to buy first

This is diagnostic and programming work. If your existing kit is sound, you're paying for time, not a new system.

Someone answers the phone

The most common thing customers actually want is a support relationship. The Care plan exists for exactly that.

We'll tell you to stop

If the hardware is obsolete or the wiring is wrong, we'll say so rather than bill programming time against a lost cause.

One Miniserver runs all of it. Most customers combine two or three of these rather than installing them as separate systems.

FAQ

Loxone Takeover & Support — common questions

My Loxone installer has gone out of business. Can you take over?
Yes, provided the property is in our coverage area. Loxone is a documented platform rather than a closed box, so with physical access to the Miniserver we can normally read the existing configuration, recover administrative control and give you back full access to your own system. We start with a diagnostic visit before quoting any further work.
I've bought a house with a Loxone system and no instructions. What now?
This is one of the most common reasons people contact us. A diagnostic visit establishes what is installed, what it currently does and what was never finished, and produces written as-built documentation. Most buyers find the system does considerably more than the previous owner ever told them, and a few hours of reprogramming makes it usable again.
Can you recover admin access if I don't have the password?
In most cases, yes, with physical access to the Miniserver and proof that you own the property. Some scenarios are more involved than others, and occasionally a system has to be reconfigured from scratch — we will tell you which situation you are in after the diagnostic visit rather than guessing beforehand.
How much does a Loxone diagnostic visit cost?
£450 ex-VAT for the visit, the configuration read, the written condition report and the as-built documentation. That is a fixed price and it stands alone — you keep the documentation whether or not you commission any further work from us. Reprogramming and extension work is quoted separately once we know what we are dealing with.
Do you charge a subscription for ongoing support?
No. Our optional Care plan is an annual arrangement from £180/year covering remote assistance, changes and priority attendance — but the system works perfectly well without it. You are buying our time when you want it, not paying for permission to use your own equipment.
Will you take on a system that was badly installed?
Usually, but we will be honest about the condition first. If the underlying wiring is wrong, no amount of programming fixes it, and we would rather quote you for putting it right than take money to work around a fault. Occasionally the right advice is that the hardware is obsolete and not worth further investment, and we will say that too.
Do you cover takeover work outside the East Midlands?
No. We cover NG, DE, LE, LN, DN and the S postcodes we serve for the rest of our work. Takeover work in particular needs an installer who can physically attend at short notice, so we would rather decline than take on a property we cannot properly support.
