01 · The plant room

One system instead of five arguing

Pump, heater, cover, dosing, lighting and dehumidification brought onto one controller, with schedules that account for each other rather than running blind.

The pump drops to low speed outside swim windows instead of running flat out all day. The heater does not fight a cover that is already open. The sauna heats on a schedule you set from the same app as everything else.

02 · Humidity

The pool hall is what damages the building

An indoor pool is a humidity problem with water in it. Get the dew point wrong and the damage shows up in the structure, the glazing reveals and the decoration long before anyone notices the reading.

Continuous humidity and temperature logging in the hall, tied to dehumidification and ventilation, is the difference between a room that lasts and one that quietly rots behind the finishes.

03 · Running cost

Visible instead of assumed

A pool is usually the single largest electrical load on a domestic supply, and almost nobody can tell you what it costs — because it is buried in one bill with everything else.

Circuit-level monitoring separates pump, heat and dehumidification, so the biggest number is identifiable and shiftable: heating on cheap-rate windows, plant running on surplus solar, and cover closing automatically when nobody is swimming.

What we do and do not take responsibility for

We control plant. We are not pool engineers and we do not take responsibility for water chemistry, filtration sizing or the safety compliance of a cover or pool enclosure. Where a cover is automated we work to the manufacturer's interlock requirements and leave the manual override in place.

If your pool has an existing plant controller that works well, we will often integrate with it rather than replace it. We will tell you which of the two is the better value on the day.

FAQ

Pool, Spa & Sauna Automation — common questions

Can you integrate with my existing pool plant controller?
Usually yes, and often that is the better value. Many pool controllers expose relay or Modbus control that a Miniserver can drive, which lets us add scheduling, monitoring and integration without replacing equipment that works. Where the existing controller is genuinely obsolete we will say so and price the alternative.
Will this reduce what my pool costs to run?
Almost always, and usually significantly, because most domestic pools are running plant far harder than they need to. Variable-speed pump scheduling, keeping the cover closed automatically and shifting water heating to cheap-rate or surplus solar are the three biggest levers. We measure first so the saving is a figure rather than a promise.
Do you handle water chemistry and dosing?
We monitor and schedule dosing plant, but we are not pool engineers and we do not take responsibility for water chemistry or filtration sizing. That stays with your pool company. What we add is control, logging and alerting so problems are visible early rather than discovered by the water going cloudy.
Is an automated pool cover safe?
A cover has to meet its manufacturer's safety and interlock requirements, and we work strictly to those — including keeping the manual override and any key-switch or hold-to-run requirement in place. Automation schedules the cover; it does not bypass the safety design.
Can you control a sauna or hot tub as well?
Yes, and they sit on the same app as the pool. A sauna can be scheduled or triggered on the way home, a hot tub can hold a lower standby temperature and come up when you want it, and both can be included in the energy monitoring so you can see what each one actually costs.
Why does humidity matter so much with an indoor pool?
Because it is what damages the building. An indoor pool hall that sits at the wrong dew point causes condensation in the structure, the glazing reveals and the decoration, and the damage is well advanced before it is visible. Continuous logging tied to dehumidification and ventilation is the cheapest insurance on the whole installation.
How much does pool and spa automation cost?
Typically from £7,500 ex-VAT depending on how much plant there is and how much of it can be integrated rather than replaced. We survey the plant room first and quote a fixed price, because the variable here is what is already installed rather than what you want.
